Cherished Friend Card

Hello! I hope this day finds you happy and well! It's been a bit of a whirlwind here and probably will remain so for a couple of weeks, but it's a joyful whirlwind with visiting friends and family so I am truly blessed.
I was excited to hear the announcement earlier this week that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby brother or sister for little Prince George! After the tragic loss of Princess Diana it does my heart good to see Prince William and Princess Kate so happy and openly in love.
On another exciting note, we are beginning a new challenge at the Frilly and Funky Challenge Blog! Trace is our host and her theme is From The Heart. She asks us to craft a vintage project with hearts as the focal image, whether it be a dimensional piece, card, or tag. The challenge winner receives a guest design spot on the blog, and all entrants have the chance to win a $25.00 shopping spree at the Funkie Junkie Boutique!  Just click on the blog link above for some amazing inspiration by my teammates, as well as the challenge entry details.

I wanted to give my card a rustic feel with a touch of romance. I gathered my favorite Maja papers and began layering, distressing, and stitching to form the base of my card.

I fashioned my heart by layering die cuts to create the look of a grape vine wreath.

I simply embellished my card with a stamped sentiment, die cut leaves, some hand painted flowers from my stash, a little twine, and a few pearls.

Thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my card. I am so honored you've shared your time with me. I can't begin to tell you how much your kind words and comments mean to me. I send you heartfelt wishes for a bright and beautiful week!

Hugs,
