Christmas Cheer!

Hello! I'm so happy you're here today!!  I have a bit of Christmas cheer to share with you on this happy Tuesday. Are you in the midst of your holiday preparations? If so, then I'm certainly right there with you. Today I'm honored to share a Christmas card on the Maja Design Blogcreated with Maja Design's fabulously festive 'I Wish' collection.

The Santa Claus image and sentiment are part of the paper collection, and a perfect focal point for a cheery holiday card. The collection features many other vintage images that are equally delightful, making it a very difficult choice.
A simple spray of frosty greenery, pinecones, and berries adorn the right side of the card, with a loopy twine bow providing a finishing flourish.

There is actually quite a bit of dimension with this card, which I'll try to capture in the photos below, as well as a peek at the interior design. The design papers are distressed, layered, stitched, and popped up with foam adhesive.

Thank you so much for joining me. I count my blessings to be in the company of such wonderful people as yourself. I send wishes for happy crafting and a holiday season filled with peace and joy.

Hugs, Nancy-sign

Peace on Earth

I wish you a happy hello on this beautiful day! What have you been up to? I'm absolutely up to my ears in snowflakes. Not the cold kind that you sled in, because we don't get snow where I live, but the frilly and frosty paper ones that I make every year around this time for my Christmas cards. I start early with my cards because time seems to fly during November and December, and I'm also childishly excited over the Christmas holiday.

I'm blessed to be posting on the Maja Design Blog today, which is perfect because I never use anything but Maja Design papers for my snowflakes. It stays intact despite the delicate nature of the die cuts, and is perfect for layering into these dimensional flakes. For this first card of the season I've chosen the fabulous Vintage Frost Basics Collection.

The base of the card is formed as usual, by distressing, layering, and stitching the design papers. I'm sticking with just two colors this time around, because soft blues and whites create a wonderful chilly feeling when used together.

There are no flowers this time (which rarely happens for me), but instead an arrangement of layered snowflakes topped off with a bit of white sand texture paste for a truly frosty finish. Icy branches and tiny snowballs enhance the frozen effect.

A little bow graces the corner, simply because I love them and feel like nothing is finished without one.

Below is a peek at the interior of the card.

Thank you so much for visiting! I hope you're having a wonderful day filled with crafty goodness and plenty of Maja Design loveliness.

Hugs,
Nancy-sign
