You're My Inspiration Challenge!

Welcome, friends! I hope you're enjoying all the blessings of summer. All is well here. I'm honored to be hosting the newest challenge over at The Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog!

For the next two weeks our theme will be 'You're My Inspiration.' Simply find any type of image or photo that inspires you to create a vintage or shabby chic project. Please post your inspiration image on your blog along with your project, and tell us what it is you love about it. The inspiration image does not need to be included as part of your project, just on your blog post.

At the end of the challenge the team will choose their top four picks. Our first place winner will be invited to join us in a Guest DT spot at The Frilly and Funkie Blog. Three additional talented participants will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and adheres to the challenge guidelines will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique! For entry specifics and inspiration from my fabulous teammates just click on the blog link above.

My inspiration image is from Pinterest. I'd include a link to the original blog, but it is no longer functioning. My adoration of flowers, gardens, and all things vintage is well known. Oh, and the roses are pink, which is the icing on the cake! This old garden house seems to tell it's own story, even if that story is different for each person who views it. If I had the secret garden that lives in my mind's eye, this little shed would be in it!

The base papers are distressed, stitched, and layered. The boards for my card are created with wood embossed kraft cardstock and a shabby layer of paint. Design paper is also layered in there, as well as a die cut and distressed kraft frame. The sentiment is rubber stamped onto distressed kraft card.

A plethora of pink roses and leaves create the focal point.

Now I have my own shabby garden shed!
Thank you so much for spending your time with me. I can't wait to see the inspiration behind your own beautiful works of art! I send wishes for all things wonderful to come your way!

Hugs,

  7. I can SO see how you've been inspired by that beautiful cottage image Nancy! It reminds me of one of the cottages at Hameau de la Reine in Versaille. I love how you've used those 'wooden planks' to back the wonderful pink roses xx
