Frilly and Funkie 'Tis the Season'

Hello! I wish you a warm welcome on this lovely day. I'm sure many of you are in the midst of your holiday preparations.

We're kicking off a new challenge at The Frilly and Funkie Blog. I'm excited to be hosting this time around! With Christmas just a few weeks away I've chosen the theme of: 'Tis the Season! I'm keeping it super simple. Create any type of vintage or shabby chic holiday themed project- whatever winter holiday you celebrate!

For challenge details and exciting prize information just click on the blog link above. We'd love for you to join in, so head to your craft room and show us what you're creating for the holidays!

Maja Design has the prettiest brown tone papers in their 'It's Christmas Time' collection. I was looking at them when I started thinking of a favorite holiday treat - chocolate! Yes, my card is totally inspired by chocolate!

I created a shabby banner of milk chocolate snowflakes, frothy lace, winter greenery, and berries as the focal point for my card.

The snowflakes are die cut from chipboard with a Tim Holtz Thinlets set, then colored with distress stains. I added a touch of frost with gesso.

The sentiment is stamped from the Tim Holtz Simple Sayings set.

Thank you for stopping in and having a look at my project. May you and your families have the most wonderful of holidays! Merry Christmas!!

Hugs,

  17. Gorgeous card, Nancy! I always look forward to seeing what you make, and this one really is one sweet design! It's so perfect that it was inspired by milk chocolate, and you have pegged that color so well on your frosty snowflakes. What a wonderfully designed banner with the softly folded papers and berries among the burlap, twine and lace. So rustic, yet so elegant! You are one talented lady! big hugs!

  23. Hi Nancy, back again to say thank you for your always sweet comments on my blog! They seem to come from your heart, and that makes my day! May I ask you a question? Are we permitted to submit more than 3 projects to one challenge at Frilly and Funkie? I've been scrolling up and down to find a ruling on this on the blog, and I can't see it. I've purposefully not entering because I've already entered 3. Thank you so much for all you do, and especially for your kind and loving heart! Hugs! Sara Emily
