Hello to all! I hope this day finds you happy and well! I took a small break from crafting as I'm currently recovering from a fall. I'm thankful to report that I am healing and it is becoming much more comfortable to walk.
It's time to begin another exciting Frilly and Funkie Challenge! Jenny (Buttons) is our host, and she would like us to focus on Father's Day by creating a project for the special men in our lives. I'm thrilled that Jenny chose a masculine theme. It forced me to set aside my flowery, shabby chic favorites and step outside of my comfort zone.
I chose to create a layered tag with a travel theme using Prima Cartographer design papers and tags. The sentiment is one of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps.
I painted Prima's Vintage Mechanical Gears with two colors of Ranger Vintaj Patina. They came out looking really old and rusty, which was just what I was hoping for.
I die cut my leaves using the Magnolia Rose Leaf Die. The smaller postage frames were cut using a Sizzix die.
The last touch I added was the wax seal. It's been gathering dust in my stash for a long time, so I pulled it out and took a chance. It took a couple of tries to get an impression. I think the next time will go even better.
