Frilly and Funky Challenge: A Friendship Rose to Warm a Heart

Hello my friends! I hope you're managing to stay warm and cozy, not to mention avoiding the nasty bugs that seem to be hitting everywhere. We have a mixed bag of weather in Charleston. There were a couple of miserably frigid days last week, but thankfully it warmed up to the 70's over the weekend.
Wherever you are and whatever the weather, I hope you'll join us for another exciting challenge at the Frilly and Funkie Blog! The theme is 'The Warmth of Winter,'  the challenge being to create a card, lay out, or project to warm the heart of someone dear to you.
My project features one of the pastel roses I made for the step by step tutorial last Saturday. Living in a subtropical climate allows me to enjoy the beautiful blooms of my Knockout Roses year round. I have a friend living in the North who is an avid gardener. She loves her summer roses, so I thought I would warm her heart a bit by sending her a rose in everlasting bloom. There are detailed directions for my roses on the Frilly and Funkie Blog.

I also crafted a soft, shabby nest using hand dyed seam binding and Fun Fur fibers. I die cut some leaves with a Heartfelt Creations Spellbinders die, spraying them with Perfect Pearls for a pretty shimmer. Next I punched a scalloped oval, stamped the sentiment, and accented the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Stain. To finish it off I added some Prima pearls and a couple of stick pins. The whole project is supported on a small stand that I fashioned from two scalloped circle punches. You'll find my supply list directly below this post.
I hope you'll share your creations with us at the Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog! We really do have the MOST fun!! Sending wishes for happiness and love!
Hugs,
