Hello and welcome! I'm so very happy to be here with you. How are you doing? It's the time of year that children are returning to school and summer is winding down, though it's still steamy and tropical in my neck of the woods.
I'm having an exciting week. Charleston was in the path of totality for the eclipse yesterday (which was very cool to see), and today have the honor of featuring a project on the Maja Design Blog. I've also just returned from traveling again, this time to my daughter's home to help out after my grand-girl's surgery. I'm thrilled to report that all went well and she's having a smooth recovery. I made her a get-well card to cheer her up a bit, but my sweet little grandson sadly pointed out that I forgot to make a card for him. I decided to remedy that situation as soon as I returned home.
All I needed was a little help from Maja Design's newest collection, Denim & Friends! Did I mention I'm happy to be home? It feels incredibly cozy to be back in my craft room with a cup of hot tea, surrounded by beautiful Maja Design papers!
The design papers are distressed, layered, and stitched in the usual fashion. The blues in this collection are absolutely lovely. I really can't get enough of them. They're perfect for masculine projects, but work just as well for shabby chic pieces.
I tell all of my children and grandchildren they're my favorites, so this image makes perfect focal point. The 'You Rock' sentiment is also prominently featured.
This is one of the least flowery cards you'll ever see from me, but I couldn't resist tucking in a few petals here and there. The paint splatters fit right in with my grand-boy's personality.
There is quite a bit of dimension, which I'll try to capture in the photos.
A natural twine bow adds a finishing touch in the lower corner.
Below is a look at the interior of the card.
Hugs,
