Time Passages Card

Welcome! I wish you the happiest of  hellos!! I hope you're well and enjoying a lovely spring season. Has your garden started to bloom yet? My Camellias are just finishing up, and I have roses and azaleas blooming now. Spring is the most fragrant time of the year in Charleston. The air smells so sweet and the breeze is so mild. I feel blessed to wake up to each new day. 

I'm also excited because I have the honor of presenting on the Maja Design Blog today, so I have something new to share with you! 

I love anything and everything 'time' themed. It can be art, a time travel series or movie, or a vintage clock or pocket watch. I adore it all. With this in mind I felt inspired by Maja Design's gorgeous Vintage Autumn Basics collection to create this new card. 

There is quite a bit of fussy cutting involved with this card, from the clock to the vintage lady, the pink flowers, and the sentiment. All of this fussy cutting has made me realize I  I need better lighting in my craft room or stronger glasses. :-))  

The roses are handmade. I have a tutorial for these roses here on my blog. 

Here are a few detail photos. Each embellishment is popped up with foam tape to create multiple layers. I tucked in a twine bow and some cheesecloth to finish things off.

Summer Enchantment Card

Hello and welcome! How are you doing on this wonderful day? What have you been up to? Have you had plenty of creative time lately?

I've been finding a bit more time to escape to my craft room, which has resulted in this brand new summer inspired card that I'm sharing on the Maja Design blog today. It features one of my all time favorite paper collections, Vintage Summer Basics. I'm aware it's not even close to the arrival of summer, but temperatures here are still in the 70's to 80, so it really does feel like summer in my part of the world, and I promise I'm not complaining. I'm enjoying every last moment of our little reprieve from winter. 

I adore the color pink, and especially the pinks found in this collection! Each sheet of design paper is distressed, layered, and stitched to form a sturdy base. The wildflowers are handmade from the paper collection, as are rose leaves, corner frame, vintage photo, fussy cut roses, and postcard embellishments.    

A stamped sentiment adds a cheery point of interest in the upper right corner.  

Loopy twine bows add a feminine finishing touch. As you can see, you can create a fully embellished card with no other supplies except for your chosen paper collection and a little twine!

Maja Design March Mood Board Challenge!

Hello to all of my crafty friends! Are you ready for a little fun competition, and to possibly win and entire Maja Design Paper Collection of your choice? If you are then your timing is perfect, because today is the beginning of the March Maja Design Mood Board Challenge! 

This is how we use the mood boards:  

Definition mood board – n

[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the color scheme.

We will pick a winner and present it on the Maja Design blog on December 26th.

Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas, take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the picture of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed the last Monday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice, and also a digital Winner’s Badge to use and brag with. 

I chose the Vintage Spring Basics paper collection to bring my mood board inspiration to life.
