Frilly and Funkie Challenge: Let there be Light!

Hello! I hope a hauntingly exciting Halloween was enjoyed by all. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and the sights and sounds of Christmas are already all around us. Have you started any holiday preparations yet?

We have a fabulous new challenge beginning at The Frilly and Funkie Blog. Sue is our hostess for the next two weeks with the theme of Let there be Light! She asks us to create a vintage or shabby chic project that makes reference to light. It can be a lamp, rays of light, or even gradients of color that become lighter.

For complete challenge details and exciting prize information just click on the blog link above. We're inviting everyone to play along, so head to your crafting area and join in the fun!

I adore the soft, flickering glow of candles. I always watch 'Little Women' during the holiday season, One of my favorite scenes is of the March sisters gathered in a candlelit attic, acting out their contributions to the Pickwick Chronicles. Just thinking of it gave me the inspiration for my Christmas tags!

"The war had made fuel and lamp oil scarce. But necessity is the mother of invention. Somehow in that dark time... our family, the March family, seemed to create its own light."
Jo March, Little Women

I distressed, stitched, and layered these beautiful Maja Design papers.

I created a leafy holiday spray to accent the candles. The tags, foliage, and circles were cut using Spellbinders and Alteration's dies. I also pulled a few supplies and embellishments out of my stash.

The stamped greetings are from Stampers Anonymous.

You'll find a few liquid pearls and bits of twine, as well as some purchased flowers.

Thank you for visiting with me! I send wishes for the most wonderful of days and plenty of crafty fun!

Hugs,
