'Violettes' All Occasion Card for Frilly and Funkie!

A heartfelt welcome to my fellow crafting enthusiasts! I hope that all is sunny and lovely in your life on this beautiful day. It's Wednesday, and that means we're announcing the start of a brand new challenge at The Frilly and Funkie Blog!

For the next two weeks my amazing teammate, Pamellia, will be hosting our 'Stamps Be Gone' challenge. Her guidelines are as follows: How would you decorate your project if you didn't own any stamps? Embossing folders, stencils, or perhaps a little hand doodling? Well, let's put it to the test for this challenge. Other than a small sentiment, I would ask that you use no stamps at all on your vintage or shabby chic creations.

For full challenge details and exciting prize information simply click on the blog link above.

I followed directions to the letter and did absolutely NO stamping with this card. My focal point is a vintage image purchased from the Iralamija Etsy Shop. It blended perfectly with Maja Design's Fika paper collection.

I measured, cut, and distressed my papers, using a sewing machine to stitch together the base for my card and three mats. There are lots of layers here! The mats and focal image are popped up with foam adhesive to add dimension.

I created a floral spray to compliment the focal image. The white Prima flowers are tinted with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains (which work wonders!) and dusted with gesso. I still have a little purple distress stain under my finger nails!

Everything is tied together with some jute cord for a bit of rustic charm. You'll also find a few Ranger Liquid Pearls in the corners ~ my final touch.

I'm so happy you stopped by to visit! Your kind words and comments warm my heart and brighten my day more than words can express. I send wishes your way for all things good and wonderful!

Hugs,
