Butterfly Wishes Card

Hello and welcome!! I'm so happy you're here! It looks like spring has arrived in truth in our little corner of the world, blessing us with longer days, warmer temperatures, and abundant sunshine.

I'm thrilled to announce it is time for another exciting challenge at the Frilly and Funky! Trace is our host and her theme is Flights of Fancy. In the spirit of this wonderful season she asks us to create a project inspired by the onset of spring that includes wings in the form of birds, bees, or butterflies. For challenge details click on this link to the Frilly and Funky Challenge Blog and let the creativity begin!! The challenge winner receives a guest design spot on the blog, and all entrants have the chance to win a $25.00 shopping spree at the Funkie Junkie Boutique!

Butterflies were my wings of choice. I love those delicate little creatures and enjoy watching them flutter about the garden. I wanted to combine both rustic and elegant elements, so I broke out two new paper collections for this card: Prima's Stationers Desk and Cartographer. They work beautifully together! If you have any questions about the other supplies I used I'll leave a complete list at the bottom of this post.

I had to include a handmade flower. Butterflies and flowers just go together. It is known. Yes, I borrowed that last line from Game of Thrones. I like to pretend I'm a princess once in a while. Sadly even my granddaughter no longer believes my story of being royalty in exile:-))

I created the lace accents from a Martha Stewart punch and designer paper. I was inspired to try this after seeing it used in a card by Dorota. It was fun and easy!

I went searching through my stamp drawers and found the perfect sentiment to coordinate with my card.

I layered up the papers and distressed the edges for a shabby, rustic appeal.

I try to keep the inside and back of my cards looking pretty. Here are a couple photos of the inside. I left room to include a note to the recipient.

My card is once again quite chunky and clearly will not fit into an envelope, so I embellished a coordinating box.

Thank you so much for visiting! I am honored you chose to spend some time here. I hope it brightened your spirits a bit. I send you wishes for a day of wonderful adventures and joyful surprises!

Hugs,
