A Place of Miracles

Hello, and welcome! How are you doing on this lovely Tuesday?I'm back today with a new card that I'm sharing on the Maja Design Blog! This makes twice in the same week, which is kind of a record for me lately, and I couldn't be happier to be able to be here with you.

For Today's card I'm creating with another one of my favorite Maja Design collections, Ska vi ta en Fika. If you love purples as much as I do, this collection is a must-have for your craft room.

Welcome to my happy place! Is there anything more magical than a secluded garden overflowing with untamed blooms? There is much joy to be found here involving all of the senses. Imagine being surrounded by the sweet fragrance of roses, or the delicate texture of a petal on your fingertips. For this reason there is much effort in the handcrafted flowers for this card, as I truly want to bring this garden to life.

Below you'll find some close ups of the handmade roses.

The sentiment stamp speaks to my heart, for gardens truly are a place of miracles.

A tiny key to the gates can be found in the corner of the card, as this garden is open to all who care to share in this space.

A natural twine bow adorns the bottom of the card.

Below is a peek at the interior of the card.

It's been such an honor to have you visit today! I hope you've enjoyed spending some quiet moments in my little garden. If you like these papers or any of the others you see in my Maja Design projects, you can bring them home with you by clicking on this STORE FINDER tab, and the magic of the internet will do the rest of the work. I wish you a day filled with all things good and wonderful, and of course, crafty adventures!

Springtime Bliss

I wish a happy hello to all of my sweet friends! How are you doing today? I hope you're well and enjoying fine weather, though March can certainly be and unpredictable month. I'm once again honored to be posting on the Maja Design Blog, sharing this new card inspired by springtime flowers and pastels. I'm using the lovely Coffee in the Arbour paper collection, as the pretty yellows, greens, and roses seem to sing to me.
Featured in today's card are handcrafted blooms, leaves, and layers of pastel design paper. You'll also find some painted and distressed corrugated board, natural twine, and venice lace, for hints of the rustic as well as a feminine touch. A bit of grunge and elegant script stamping add to the overall effect.

The cheery hand stamped sentiment is perfect for almost every occasion. Below are some close ups of the handmade florals.

You can see the layers of distressing and stitching along the edges of the card, as well as a bit of the interior with it's coordinating script stamping.

I send a huge thanks to each of you who have stopped in to visit today. If you're interested in bringing this paper collection (or any of the other gorgeous papers!) home with you, just click on this STORE FINDER tab, and you'll be transported to an online store near you. It is an honor and a pleasure to have you here. From the Heart

Hello, and welcome! How are you doing today? I'm so happy you're here! I couldn't be more thrilled to be here with you.

It's my honor to be posting on the Maja Design Blog today, and while looking through my recent projects, I realized it's been a very long time since I've used one of my favorite collections, Vintage Autumn Basics. The beautiful purples and mauves from this lovely collection always call to me, and are the inspiration for my card.

The papers are so versatile that twine is the only embellishment that is not created from the collection.

The roses and leaves are handmade using design paper. I hope to have a new rose tutorial ready for you on my next post. I meant to have it for you today, but because we have the flu in our home the smallest things (like editing photos) seem insurmountable.  Happily, we are all recovering, so a tutorial will be following shortly.

The layered heart is die cut from design paper, then stitched on the sewing machine and fanned out to create dimension.

The vintage image, sentiment, and flourishes are also from the paper collection. You can see how easy it is to create a card filled with coordinating embellishments with nothing except a pack of Maja Design papers!

A twirly twine bow adds a final frilly touch.

Thank you so much for stopping in! If you're interested in snagging this paper collection (or any of the other gorgeous papers!) for yourself, just click on this STORE FINDER tab, and be magically transported to an online store near you. I hope you're staying healthy through this cold and flu season, and that you have a day filled with sunshine and wondrously joyful moments!

Hugs,

Shall We Dance?

Hello, friends! I'm so happy you've stopped in for a visit. I hope you're having a great day. Are you ready to be finished with winter and move on to spring yet? I'm ready for spring on January 2nd, but mother nature rarely cooperates. My bird feeders have been really busy since the cold set in, so I've been spending time crafting and admiring all the sweet little songbirds.

I'm excited to be sharing a new card on the Maja Design Blog. I'm absolutely head over heels in love with Maja Design's newest collection, Celebration, so I'm featuring it once again in today's card.

Here you'll find layers of distressed papers, pearls, lace, roses, and a billow of gowns. One thing is certain, when this stunning couple steps onto the dance floor, all eyes are on them. The image is fussy cut from the paper collection. There are so many lovely images to work with that the possibilities are endless. I'm inspired to pull out my detail scissors every time I pick up this collection.

The roses are handmade, with a tiny paper rose added as a center. Below are a few photos of the details of the card.

If you'd like to purchase the new collection or any of Maja Design's other beautiful papers, just click on this link for the STORE FINDER  to locate a shop near you. I wish you love, joy, and crafty inspiration, and don't forget to dance like no one is watching!

Let the Celebration Begin!

Hello, sweet friends! I wish you a warm and cozy  welcome on this fine winter day! I'm recovering from the flu this week. It found me on the last day of our week in Disney World, so thankfully our vacation was unspoiled by illness, but the 8 hour drive home was really difficult for me. We got home at midnight on Saturday morning, and I was in the urgent care office when they opened their doors a few short hours later. I am very thankful for Tamiflu, because obviously the flu shot I got in October was worthless. I'm finally starting to feel a bit more human again, and very, very happy to be back in my craft room.

I'm super excited to be up on the Maja Design Blog today sharing a card created with Maja Design's newest collection, Celebration, with you. The new release is in honor of Maja Design's 10th anniversary, and if you haven't checked these festive papers out yet, you're in for a treat.  It's filled with fabulous patterns, colors, and spectacular vintage images reminiscent of the romance and gaiety of the roaring twenties.

This lovely image of a fashionable 'flapper' lady forms a perfect focal point, and is fussy cut from the paper collection. Black is heavily featured in the palette because it reminds me of a Coco Chanel quote, "Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all." When it comes to style, I'm always inspired by Coco Chanel quotes.

Pearl sprays, roses, and a loopy bow add a feminine touch. Of course, there must be pearls on this card, because according to Coco Chanel, "A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls." I happen to agree with her completely.

The sentiment and roses are also fussy cut from the paper collection. There are quite a few layers here, many of which are popped up with foam adhesive to add dimension.

If you're wondering where you can purchase the new collection or any of Maja Design's other beautiful papers, just click on this link for the STORE FINDER  to locate a shop near you. I send wishes for all things good and wonderful!

Celebrate!

Hello, dear friends! I hope you're having a wonderful beginning to the New Year! I'm so happy you stopped by. I know how busy things can get this time of year. As I write this post we are in the midst of a major snow storm in Charleston. It's a winter wonderland for sure, as there are about 5 inches of snow on the ground! The last time we had snow was in 2010, so it's a pretty big event for us. My backyard squirrels and songbirds (who have never seen snow) are not quite sure what to make of it, but we provide them with plenty of food and shelter, so we're hopeful they'll stay healthy and safe through the winter weather.

I have exciting news to share from Maja Design. A brand new collection is in the works and is about to be released! I can't tell you more just yet, except to say that you don't have much longer to wait.

I'm excited to be starting the New Year with sharing a card on the Maja Design Blog! This week I created a card for my dear friend's birthday using papers from Maja Design's lovely Vintage Summer Basics

The beautiful papers absolutely work magic in bringing this festive rose garden to life. The roses, stamped sentiment, and curly confetti are handmade from design paper. The only portion of this project that is not made with Maja Design paper is the twine and ribbon.

Below is a peek at the interior of the card, where is space for a personal sentiment. This portion is created to be removable, so the recipient may insert a photo at a later time if desired.

If you're wondering where you can purchase these beautiful papers, just click on this link for the STORE FINDER  to locate a shop near you. I send wishes for warmth and light as we continue our journey through the winter months. It's the perfect time to get cozy in our crafting space and let creativity flow!

Hugs,
