Maja Design February Mood Board Challenge!

Hello! How are you doing today? Are you up to anything crafty? It's February and Valentine's day is just around the corner. It's also time for a brand new mood board challenge at Maja Design! My interpretation is above. What I'm really excited to see is what you will create for the challenge. The mood board and entry guidelines can be found below.

This is how we use the mood boards:
Definition mood board – n
[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]
We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the color scheme.
We will pick a winner and present it on the Maja Design blog on December 26th.
Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?
♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas, take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.
♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?
♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the picture of the mood board.
♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.
♥ The winner will be revealed the last Monday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice, and also a digital Winner’s Badge to use and brag with.

Thanks so much for stopping in today! It's time to get cozy in your craft space and begin creating your mood board project. Wishing you many crafty adventures!

Hugs,

Be My Valentine!

Hello and welcome! I hope you're having a great day. I can't believe we're already in February! Time truly does fly when you're having fun.

Today is the beginning of our newest two week challenge at The Frilly and Funkie Blog!  The lovely Zoe is our hostess with the following guidelines: Love is in the air, and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, this challenge is to make a card for your sweet Valentine in a vintage or shabby chic style.

At the end of the challenge the team will choose their top four picks. Our first place winner will be invited to join us in a Guest DT spot at The Frilly and Funkie Blog . Three additional talented participants will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and adheres to the challenge guidelines will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique! For entry specifics and inspiration from my fabulous teammates just click on the blog link above.

My son was born on Valentine's Day, so of course it is my favorite day of the year! For this challenge I'm sharing a card featuring shabby, distressed layers, dimensional stitched hearts, and handmade roses.

I have a tutorial for these roses here. The flowers are anchored with a twine bow and bits of frayed cheesecloth. The tiny clock is fussy cut from the paper collection.

Thank you so much for visiting with me! I'm super excited about our new challenge, and I hope you'll play along with us. May your day be filled with sunshine and joyful moments!

The Random Number Generator has chosen #16, Autumn, as the winner of Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics paper collection! I did plug in all 21 entrants to the Random Number Generator, but for some reason the 'Max' number keeps showing up as '10' when I cut and paste it to the blog.

Congratulations, Autumn!! You can contact me privately on Facebook with your address. I will pass it along to Maja Design and they'll send your paper collection speeding to your doorstep.

I send a huge thanks to everyone who participated! Maja Design hosts a new giveaway each month. To find out who is hosting the giveaway you can check out the blogs of the creative team members here

Snowy with a Chance of Flowers

Hello, beautiful friends! It's such a privilege to be here with you today. I hope you're having a great week so far. I'm spending quite a bit of time in my craft room this week, so I'm happy as can be.

Today marks the start of a new challenge at the Frilly and Funkie Blog! The lovely Suzz is our hostess with the following theme: Winter time brings such a beautiful mix of colors. This challenge requires you use any or all of the following colors: blue, white, silver, gray in your vintage or shabby chic project.

I'm totally in to blue at the moment. I'm going straight for the blues, whites, and grays for this challenge. Maja Design's Vintage Autumn Basics Collection is doing a fabulous job of feeding my addiction for these colors.

I've been playing with flowers again. These blooms are a variation on the tutorial from Saturday. Just because we're working with a frozen winter palette doesn't mean there shouldn't be flowers, right? Charleston gardens have something in bloom at any given time of the year. We're in the upper 70's this week, so in my opinion there is no reason flowers can't exist alongside the snowflakes and icy branches.

My card is accented with distressed edges, hand stitching, and a twine bow.

Thank you so much for sharing your time with me! I hope you're planning to participate in the challenge. I'm beyond excited to see what you create with your gorgeous winter color palettes! I send wishes for a day overflowing with joy and crafty inspiration!

Hugs,
